Peggy Jarrell Kaplan's portraits of choreographers are accompanied by short excerpts of statements by her subjects about their work. Many well-known choreographers are included, although more marginal and avant-garde choreographers are also given attention. Some of these are Merce Cunningham, Trisha Brown, Lucinda Childs and Gus Solomons, Jr, as well as several French choreographers. The photographs are beautiful duotone prints, handsomely presented.
