Veronesi Rose.

Photographs by Camille Vivier.
Shelter Press, 2013. 20 pp., color illustrations throughout, 9x13½".

Publisher's Description
Parisian fashion photographer Camille Vivier embraces a dreamlike atmosphere, regularly referencing literature, cinema, art and mythology. With 'Veronesi Rose', she takes as a starting point two recurrent classical subjects: the nude and the still life. “The result is a strange and contrary alliance that raises questions about the relationship between nature and artifice, between body and object.” Narrative tendrils and an obsession with the anthropomorphic form creep through the series of images, in which nude women recline upon concrete prehistoric beasts, and which is interspersed with abstract daytime shots of colourfully illuminated yet dormant amusement park signs.
