From 1947 into the Seventies, Dolf Kruger worked as photographer for two Dutch daily papers, before photographing for industry. Kruger was one of the school of documentary photographers, with Cartier-Bresson, Doisneau, Weegee and Walker Evans, among others, who "found the road to the human, and to social documentation, not as an incidental, but as an integral part of their vision"-- Flip Bool. This retrospective of his work from 1948 until 1984 was nominated the best designed photobook of 1987 in Holland and is pleasingly presented with full-page duotone photos accompanied by a historical and biographical essay by Flip Bool.
