Photographs by Alex Kayser. Afterword by Richard Howard.
Abbeville Press, New York, 1985. 128 pp., 11x8¾".

In this fascinating study of the bald human head, we are shown what is essentially the same photographic technique over and over again--184 times in all: same lighting, same cropping, same viewpoint, same expression. What changes are the forms and physiognomy that make up what we know as a face. The end result is a sort of meditation on the landscape of the human face. Also includes an interview with the artist.
